The Dream Team Part I: The Ushers

Publié le par Alexe & Paddy

The French don't do weddings like we do. They don't go in for the groom, fathers, best men, ushers all dressed in similar tailed attire. I dare anyone to try and persuade two French women to wear the same dress to the same wedding ...

So, as the ushers won't be dressed like ushers (though they will have a flower pinned to their lapels), we thought it would be a good idea for me to present them to you in advance.

This is the aim of Part I of the Dream Team

Usher n°1
Christophe Jean Michel Sugden, also known as l'Anglische, was born in London 31 years ago to an English Dad and a French Mum. When I first arrived in Toulouse, Christophe was my English speaking raft in a sea of incomprehensible French - that, plus the fact that he is an excellent chef, made two good reasons to squat his flat back in our student days!

Usher n°2
Fabrice Barnier, Fafa to his friends, Fab to me ... and he is! A truer example of the Marseillais you could not find - born in the Ville de Soleil in 1975. A creator of electronic music par excellence and "le Roi de la blague", he has spoilt us all rotten with weekends by the pool in Marseille.

Usher n°3
Nicolas Haglund, or Hpif (pronounced Ashpeef), is quite probably the most refined man in France. A lover of jazz, fine wines and surf, this eligible bachelor from La Rochelle (1976 millésime ... a very good year) is as tasty as the fish dishes he cooks.

Usher n°4
Matthieu Burlotte, Burlif to his friends, was born in Paris in 1976, but don't let that put you off, because a decade spent in Toulouse has driven all of the "Parigo tête de veau" out of him ... except for the driving! He's the outdoors type with a fetish for "technologically advanced" clothing!

They all speak good English and will be at your service for anything you might need on the 19th, be it a taxi, directions to the reception or a refill !!

Stay tuned for Part II: Les Demoiselles d'Honneur
